Echo Auto connects to Alexa through the Alexa app on your phone and plays through your car speakers via an auxiliary cable or connected to your smartphone’s Bluetooth. Every time you start your car, be sure to turn up the volume on your phone and set your car stereo to the correct auxiliary. Then say “Alexa,” wait for the chime, and then speak to her.
Update your to-do lists, set reminders, or check your calendar while your eyes follow the road. Just ask for directions, and Alexa will connect to compatible apps like Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze on your phone. Alexa can even help you make calls, drop in on compatible Echo devices at home, or send a message that you’re on your way home.
With tens of thousands of skills and counting, Alexa is always learning. Skills are like apps and let you play games like HeadsUp!, find the cheapest gas station with GasBuddy, get parking help with ParkWhiz or ParkBob, and even get roadside assistance with Nationwide or Urgent.ly.
